Mennonite Conference /Community Service in Olde Towne East Day -2

The Mennonite Church USA conference is being hosted at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. 4,500 volunteers will be giving of their time in the afternoons from one o’clock to four o’clock to give back to the community of Columbus and surrounding areas. The planning for this event started back in February/March 2009.
On Thursday July 2, 2009 the Olde Towne East Neighborhood Association again hosted 30 young adults and chaperone’s for community projects. The areas of focus were East Main Street, South Ohio, McAllister, Oakwood and Mound Street areas.
The Olde Towne East Neighborhood Association would like to express our gratitude to these young adults and chaperone’s for giving their time and hard work to our area. Thank you.
A special thank you to the many volunteers from Officer Kalous and the officers at the 12Th precinct.

I actually saw some of these young people cleaning up a lot right across from Blackburn Park and thought they might have been with the convention group.
